Dealership Information System

At PT Berlian Sistem Informasi (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation), I’m part of the team building a new microservice-based dealership information system, migrating from a legacy monolithic system previously developed in-house. The system spans the full dealership workflow — sales, workshop services, and body & paint — and my team happens to own the finance module, which is what I work on as a software engineer.

The system serves Mitsubishi’s official dealer network in Indonesia — over 300 dealers nationwide, spanning vehicle sales, workshop services, and body & paint facilities.

The challenge

The biggest technical challenge has been decomposing a large, complex monolith into microservices, where a single module often has deep dependencies on many others — requiring careful thought around service boundaries, data consistency, and inter-service communication to avoid breaking existing workflows during the transition.
